Boston Post Cane tradition to be Renewed

In 1909, the Boston Post newspaper made a special cane available for each town in the region to give to its oldest resident.  The tradition continues in many communities, with the “Boston Post Cane” being passed down through the years.  After a brief hiatus, the Town of Auburn will resume this tradition by presenting a replica cane to our oldest resident in September.   The town’s original cane is on display at the Auburn Historical Association.
