In 1996, the Town of Auburn entered into a Host-Town Benefits Agreement with Waste Management of New Hampshire, Inc., for the establishment and operation of a solid waste transfer station to be owned and operated by Waste Management.
The facility is located at 24 Grey Point Avenue off of Route 28 By-Pass, and features a Citizen Drop-Off Facility for the use and benefit of the citizens of the Town of Auburn.
The Waste Management Transfer Station is open six days a week, and provides for disposal of non-hazardous solid waste and refuse, including recyclable materials, light residential demolition and construction debris, leaves, brush, yard waste, appliances and tires. The Citizen Drop-Off Facility is available free of charge to the citizens of Auburn for solid waste, refuse and recyclable materials, while there are fees charged for demolition debris, appliances and tires.
To obtain your decal bring your CURRENT AUBURN AUTO REGISTRATION to the Town Hall. Decals are available at the Selectmen, Tax Collector and Town Clerk offices during normal business hours. The decals will also be available at the Waste Transfer Station. If you have any questions, please contact the Town Clerk or Selectmen’s Office.
Waste Management went through local Site Plan Approval with the Auburn Planning Board, in addition to permitting by the NH Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) for the siting and operation of the Auburn Transfer Station.
