In 1996, the Town of Auburn entered into a Host-Town Benefits Agreement with Waste Management of New Hampshire, Inc., for the establishment and operation of a solid waste transfer station to be owned and operated by Waste Management.

Waste Management went through local Site Plan Approval with the Auburn Planning Board, in addition to permitting by the NH Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) for the siting and operation of the Auburn Transfer Station.  The “Agreement for Host-Town Benefits” is posted under the Links on this web page.  The agreement is for a period of not more than 40 years (1996 – 2036).
