2nd Annual TRUNK or TREAT

 Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 6:00 PM-8:00 PM

at the Auburn Safety Complex

The Auburn Safety Complex and Parks & Recreation are again partnering to bring our residents the Trunk or Treat that will be held on Halloween night!  It was such a fun event last year that we are happy to see it become an annual Auburn tradition.  Trunk or Treat is not replacing traditional trick or treating but is a fun, night time option in safe environment.

What is Trunk or Treat?  Trunk or Treat is a different spin on Trick-or-Treating where community members bring a car, decorate its trunk (or entire car) and pass out candy as kids “trunk or treat” from car to car.

To register your vehicle for Trunk or Treat and read all the rules that go along with that, please see the registration form under "Forms" on the left.

If you plan to trunk or treat without a decorated vehicle, no need to register.  All are welcome!

Auburn seniors are invited on our fall trip to spooky Salem, Massachusetts on Wednesday, October 3rd

The day will begin with a one hour narrated trolley tour of Salem.  The eight-mile ride around the city takes you past the Charter Street Burial Ground, the House of the Seven Gables, Witch Dungeon Museum, Salem Witch Museum, the historic waterfront area and other locations, including Chestnut Street considered to be one of the most beautiful streets in America.

Next, we will enjoy a delicious Italian buffet lunch at the Village Tavern.  The buffet will include chicken marsala with mushrooms, four cheese pasta and sweet Italian sausage and meatballs.   We will finish up our meal with assorted Italian pastries.

After lunch there will be time to explore Salem at your own pace.  You can visit the local shops, spend time in the Salem Common and stroll around the town.

We will depart Auburn from St. Peter’s Church at 9:15 am and expect to return around 4:00 pm.

Auburn Teen Council

Teens, let your voice be heard!  The Parks and Recreation department is forming a new Auburn Teen Council for students ages 13 to 17.  The ATC will plan events and programs for Auburn teens as well as volunteer at local events.  This is a great opportunity for students to get involved in their community while developing leadership, budget and event planning skills.

There will be an informational meeting on Thursday, September 20th at 6:30 pm at the Safety Complex.  If you are interested in attending, please contact the Parks and Rec at 483-5052 x101 or email recreation@townofauburnNH.com

Movement & Yoga

Children ages 3-5 are invited to our Movement & Yoga program which blends yoga, play, dance, music and drama.  Your child will enjoy simple poses, games, music and breathing exercises, in a fun family atmosphere. Yoga at an early age encourages self-esteem and body awareness with a physical activity that's noncompetitive.

Classes will be held on Thursdays starting at 9:15 am at the Safety Complex Meeting Room.   This 6-week session begins on September 20th and runs through October 25th.  The fee for this program is $59.

Preregistration is required.  The registration form can be found under the "forms" tab on the left.
