Board of Selectmen Establish 2019 Goals

Looking forward to the coming year and beyond, the Board of Selectmen was able to take some time on in mid-December and participate in a facilitated workshop meeting intent on identifying goals the Board had for the Town during 2019.

This is the third consecutive year the Board has held a goal setting meeting, and the initial effort this year was a review of the goals for 2018 and what had been accomplished.

By clicking here, you  will see the report outlining the thoughts and discussions from this goal setting session which has already been shared with department heads, boards and committees.  In addition to being posted here on the Town website, it is also being included in the 2018 Town Report to be issued in March.

The three main goals identified by the Board for the Town's colllective efforts in 2019 include:

  • Focus on potential economic development efforts with an emphasis on the area of By-Pass 28 and the potential re-authorizing of the Auburn Development Authority.
  • Bring to completion the planning effort for needed space for the Police Department and additional storage space for Town departments
  • Develop plans for the digitizing and electronic storage of Town records.

As we move forward in 2019, we are optimistic these are goals that can be worked on and achieved or at least moved forward during the next 12 months.
