Creative Movement- for children ages 3 to 5

Introduce your child ages 3-5 to dance movement with this new 4 week program.  In this 45 minute class, children will learn the primary fundamentals of dance through creative movement while playing games, singing songs and meeting new friends!  

Instructor Amy Carlson, of AMC Dance, has been teaching since 2013. Amy has been dancing since she was three and strives to introduce children to the world of dance through creativity and joy.

Classes will be held on Thursdays starting at 9:15 am at the Safety Complex Meeting Room.   This 4 week session begins on September 7th and runs through September 28th.  The fee for the 4 week program is $40.

Fall Senior Trip- Hobo Harvest Time Express

All Auburn seniors are invited aboard the Hobo Harvest Time Express on Wednesday, October 4th.  We will depart Auburn from St. Peter’s Church at 8:30 am and expect to return around 3:00 pm.  Once in Lincoln, NH, we board the train for an 80 minute ride along the Pemigewasset River to enjoy all the colors of fall.  In addition to the bagged picnic lunch, a “Taste of New Hampshire” will be featured with complimentary samples of NH-Made seasonal items and specialty products aboard the train.  The bag lunch will include a sandwich of your choice (please indicated your choice on your registration below) , a bag of chips, chocolate chip cookie and beverage. 

After the trip, you will have access to the Hobo Harvest Farm Stand, Farm Yard and Great Hobo Pumpkin Patch.  Here you can check out the “Cornstalk Critters” which are life-sized scarecrows created by the world famous Annalee Doll Co.

The cost for this trip is $15 per person.  Please return the registration form (which can be found under "Forms") below along with the fee to Auburn Parks and Recreation, PO Box 309, Auburn, NH 03032.  Checks can be made payable to the Town of Auburn.

This trip is on a first come, first serve basis for the first 55 seniors signing up.  The trips tend to fill up fast.  Please send in your form ASAP so you don’t miss out.  


Senior BBQ

 The Annual Senior BBQ, for Auburn Residents age 65 and over, will be held at the Safety Complex on Saturday, August 12th at 1:00 pm.  Hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, salads, drinks and ice cream will be served at no charge.  This event is always a big hit and will be even bigger this year.

We are in our 5th year for the concert series.   Mark your calendars for FREE family entertainment, live music, complimentary hot dogs and hamburgers, FREE raffle and FREE popcorn.  Bring the kids to enjoy the playground and sit back and relax to the music of:

Saturday, November 4- Coffee House with The Coffee House Players at AVS school café. 

The June and August Concerts are held at the Circle of Fun Playground Gazebo, with the newly constructed stage, at the corner of Route 121 and Bunker Hill Road from 6:00-8:00 pm.  Bring a lawn chair or blanket and join your neighbors for a night of relaxed family fun.  In the event of rain, the outdoor concerts will be held at Longmeadow Church hall.

Playdate at the Park

Parents and their little ones are invited to meet at the Circle of Fun playground this summer to let our kids play together while we get to know each other.  Each playdate will have a theme and a special guest to make it even more fun… 

Thursday, July 13th at 10:00 am- Miss Mary from the Griffin Free Library will read a couple stories in the gazebo when then kids need a break from running and playing.  **Cancelled due to rain.  Rescheduled date TBD**

Thursday, August 3rd at 10:00 am- Our friends at the Auburn Fire Department will stop by with a fire truck for the kids to check out. 

Thursday, August 24th at 10:00 am- “Back to School”.  Summer goes by so fast and it’s time to get our little ones ready for school.   To help ease any back to school fears, the AVS Kindergarten staff as well as administration has been invited to this playdate.  Check back in the August Crier for more specifics on this date. 


Fast Track Summer Running Program

This new running program, led by AVS Cross Country Head Coach and 8th grade teacher, Tim Hamilton, is designed to give student athletes a leg up in all areas of fitness and health for fall sports.  This program is designed to boost endurance and provide an opportunity to enter fall sport in prime condition so all athletes can excel on the course or on the field.  The workouts will be comprised of stretching, conditioning drills, nutrition information, running workouts and active games. 

Schedule:  8:00 – 10:30 am on August 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 23 and 24.

Location:  Meet at the Auburn Safety Complex meeting room

Ages:  This program is designed for students entering grades 5 -8

Price:  Early bird price of $99 before June 10th.  The cost will be $129 after that date.  This price includes instruction, Auburn Fast Track tech wick t-shirt and water bottle

Limit:  There is a limit of 25 participants with a final registration deadline of July 10th.  Don’t delay.  This program could fill up quickly.
