Library Trustee

Present: David Griffin; Fay Hanscomb; Sharon Bluhm, Alternate; Edie Cummings, Library Director

 

10:45am

 

The previous month's minutes were accepted with the addition of “ the Longmeadow Church accepted the old library's table.” Griffin/Hanscomb

 

No treasurer report was given today.

 

Fay called Jordan's to ask about arm and head covers for the chair. They are no longer made and the best we can do is order the material and have them made. A motion was made to order matching material by Griffin/ Bluhm.

 

David hasn't heard from Dave Flight as yet, Edie will ask about the check when she sees him next.

 

Duffy is doing publicity well, has had several events listed in the Banner and the Town Crier.

 

Edie has tried to contact Lt Linda and Lenny about installing the antenna. Lt. Linda is not available at this time, Edie will find out who is taking her place.

 

Fay and Edie will gain try to meet to work on the asset list.

 

Peter Barbuda will install a light over the mirror in the bathroom. He has fixed the light on the peak of the library.

 

Frank Hanscomb will fix the window cleats and reinstall the blinds on the door when it comes in. He also made a bookcase for the children's room and assembled and finished off a child's step stool.

 

Randy (Alliance ) has been working on the main router component. Edie will contact them about their billing charge.

 

Edie's Report

 

Edie has amended the Circulation Policy to include, out of town seniors will not be charged to have a Auburn library card.
 

Edie hasn't had a response for the Chess Club.

 

Edie gave an informational talk to the Longmeadow Church Ladies Circle in March, it was well received. She is also selling tickets for the Lion's Club Spring dance 4/10.

 

A Felting Class is scheduled and Baby Solutions Class in April.

 

Storytime will be moved to 3:30- 4:30 starting on April 1st.

 

An evening Storytime celebrating Earth Day will be held on 4/22.

 

Fay will contact Leeanne to ask her how the Friends will disburse $500 to the library to cover future programs. Will the Friends be responsible to pay directly?

 

Upcoming programs connected to the Big Read will be two speakers, an attorney and Rebecca Rule.

 

Our next meeting will be 4/15
