Library Trustee

January 15, 2010

 

 

Present: Nancy Mayland, Chair; David Griffin, Treasurer; Fay Hanscomb, Secretary; Sharon Bluhm, Alternate; Edie Cummings, Director


10:45 am

 

We welcomed Sharon Bluhm as an alternate Trustee for one year.

 

The minutes were read and accepted Mayland/Griffin.

 

Treasurer report was given and accepted Hanscomb/Mayland
 

Table, chairs and reading chair have been purchased at Jordans Furniture and will be delivered within 2 months. We'll arrange for a plaque in Dennis's memory for the reading chair.

 

David will check with APD about missing checks.

 

David received a book from Page Forest in Arizona for the library. It was a book of poems entitled, No Humdrum World and Other Poems by Mary Bradley Bramhall of Auburn. David entertained us with stories of long ago of her and her family.

 

The Trustees will meet next week to interview two staff members interested in the PR position.

 

Edie's Report
 

Tim from Alliance Computers will be coming in to demonstrate/assist how to put Word on the computers.

 

Circulation for 2009 was 18,406.

The Staff is working on a procedure catalog.

The Trustees and Director will need to work on an updated assets report for insurance reasons.

An imitation Christmas tree has been donated to the library from Mary Hrubiec. Voted and accepted Griffin/Hanscomb.

 

Edie has checked in with Linda and Bruce Philips to see if they can get the ladder truck to work on relocating the antenna to improve communication (fire alarm).

 

Storytime will be changing to late Tuesday. Mary is considering a possible evening storytime for the older children.

 

Dollars for Scholars applications will be available the end of February.

 

Edie gave a presentation to the Auburn Seniors. She would like to offer a free library card to seniors if they live outside of Auburn. Nancy suggested that she write up the policy so we could vote on it next week at a meeting.

 

We all thanked Sharon for attending the meeting.

 

Next meeting will be February 10, 2010 @10:30am
