Town of Auburn's Age Friendly Community Assessment

Last year the Southern NH Planning Commission (SNHPC) launched its Becoming Age-Friendly program.

With the generous support of Tufts Health Plan Foundation, AARP NH, the City of Manchester Health Department, NHDOT, numerous organizations from across the region, and community champions, the SNHPC is proud to announce it has completed Phase I of the Becoming Age-Friendly program and released their findings.

Phase I of the Becoming Age-Friendly program included establishing a stakeholder committee and incorporating their guidance to administering the program. Several surveys were developed and community assessments were performed across all 14 municipalities in the SNHPC region—including Auburn — yielding valuable input from several hundred residents and stakeholders on the four focus areas:

  • Transportation & Connectivity

  • Housing & Zoning

  • Recreation & Engagement

  • Business & Economic Development
