Special Election to be Held for State Representative

The Towns of Auburn, Chester and Sandown will be holding a special election this summer to fill one of the State Representative positions in Rockingham District #4.  The position became vacant with the passing of Rep. William Polewarczyk of Chester.

The Governor and Executive Council approved a Primary Election date of Tuesday, August 8th and a Special Election date of Tuesday, September 26th.

Three Republican candidates have filed for this position including James E. Devine of Sandown, James F. Headd of Auburn and Anthony S. Rossignol of Chester.  A sole Democractic candidate is Kari Lerner of Chester, while there is also a single Libertarian candidate, James D. Jarvis of Sandown.  The August 8th Primary election will be held to select who will be the three different party nominees.

For the September 26th Special Election, the candidates who with the Democratic, Libertarian and Republican nominations on August 8th will appear on the ballot.  

The individual elected by voters at the September 26th Special Election will fill the remaining term of the late Representative Polewarczyk through the end of December 2018.
